HOGS FOR SALE

Hog: A Pig of a Different Size

A hog is a pig, specifically a domesticated swine that has been raised for meat. Typically, the term "hog" refers to a pig that weighs more than 120 pounds (54 kg).

Here are some key characteristics of hogs:

  • Large size: Hogs are significantly larger than other pigs, with males (boars) being particularly large and muscular.
  • Raised for meat: Hogs are primarily raised for their meat, which is a staple food source in many cultures.
  • Mature Quickly: Hogs mature within one year but will continue to grow.
  • Omnivorous diet: Hogs are omnivores, meaning they eat both plants and animals.
