  • Breed Standards: Adherence to breed standards ensures the preservation of desirable traits and the overall quality of the breed.

Increased Market Value

  • Premium Pricing: Registered sheep often command higher prices due to their known pedigree and performance records.
  • Expanded Market: Registration opens up opportunities to sell to a wider range of buyers, including commercial producers, seedstock producers, and show enthusiasts.
  • Brand Recognition: Building a reputation for producing high-quality, registered sheep can enhance your brand and attract loyal customers.

Participation in Shows and Competitions

  • Recognition and Awards: Competing in shows and exhibitions can elevate your flock's reputation and potentially earn awards and prizes.
  • Networking Opportunities: These events provide a platform to connect with other breeders, share knowledge, and form valuable relationships.
  • Marketing and Promotion: Showcasing your sheep at events can increase visibility and attract potential buyers.

Herd Health and Biosecurity

  • Disease Tracking: Registration can help identify and track diseases within a breed, enabling proactive measures to prevent outbreaks.
  • Health Certification: Some registration organizations require health certifications, ensuring the overall health and well-being of your flock.

Legal and Insurance Purposes

  • Proof of Ownership: Registration papers can serve as legal proof of ownership, protecting your interests in case of disputes or theft.
  • Insurance Claims: Accurate registration records can facilitate insurance claims for losses due to accidents, disease, or theft.

By taking the time to register your sheep, you can unlock a range of benefits that will contribute to the long-term success of your operation.

We also require DNA testing for all animals that we register.  DNA testing allows you to trace the parentage of your stock and ensure you are improving the breed with your crosses.  The fee is $44.00 and is added to the 40.00 membership fee.
