Donations for Needy Families
Understanding the Need - what the money is spent on.
- Why is this important? Donating to help a family start a garden (a self-sufficient household), but lack the initial funds to get started. This helps people stay off county, state and federal programs that are paid by the tax payers.) This can include:
- Animals: Chickens, goats, rabbits, turkeys, ducks, sheep (for eggs, milk, meat)
- Feed and Supplies: basic tools, fencing, small animal enclosures & shelters
- "Seed Money" (literally!): Donations could go directly to purchasing seeds, starter plants, or young animals, for their zone.
- Learning: Personnel from D/G Heritage Livestock will assist families by teaching them how to start their seeds, feed and water plants, soil acidity, harvesting their food, collecting eggs, and milking goats, etc.
- Domestic Pets and farm animals that are abandoned out here.
- Helps us to provide feed and comfort.
- Helps provide training if needed to place them in a good home.
- Helps to pay for veterinary costs including shots and emergency care, and spay or neuter.
- Helps to give each animal a new collar and leash for their use and to go home with them.
- Allows us to provide some toys for play.
- Areas with natural disaster.
- We haul in feed and hay
- Pay for feed and comfort
- Pay for any needed emergency veterinary care

Help us provide for needy families by donating funds to assist them in starting to feed their families. Self-sufficiency is started at home, and what better leg up is there than to help ensure a family can provide for itself. People who donate will be listed on the monthly newsletter.
