Thyme - out of season

Description:

Thyme (Thymus vulgaris) is a perennial herb with small, fragrant leaves. It's a versatile herb used in both cooking and herbal medicine. Thyme plants typically grow 6-12 inches tall and wide, with woody stems and fragrant foliage.  

Soil and Planting:

• Soil: Thyme prefers well-drained, sandy or rocky soil with a pH between 6.0 and 7.5.
• Planting: Plant thyme in full sun or partial shade. Space plants 12-18 inches apart. Water deeply and infrequently, allowing the soil to dry out slightly between waterings.

Growth:

Thyme is a hardy plant that can tolerate drought and cold temperatures. It's a slow-growing herb that can live for many years. To encourage bushy growth, prune thyme plants in the spring.
